Archangel Cat is a boutique Russian Blue cattery based in Idaho, dedicated to breeding healthy, authentic, affectionate, purebred Russian Blue kittens with CFA and TICA pedigrees. While we are located in Idaho, our kittens are placed with families throughout the United States.

Our focus is simple: raise exceptional Russian Blue kittens that thrive as lifelong companions. How Our Cattery Began

Our journey with Russian Blues began after the loss of our beloved cat Georgia, who lived with us for 22 years. When the time came to welcome another cat, we needed a breed that shed less and produced lower levels of Fel d 1 protein due to allergies in our household. In that search, we discovered the Russian Blue.

We quickly fell in love with the breed’s intelligence, calm confidence, striking silver-blue coat, and affectionate but respectful nature. That experience sparked a desire not only to own Russian Blues, but to preserve and responsibly breed them so other families could enjoy the same bond. ArchangelCat was created from that passion.

What Makes Archangel Cat Different

Home-Raised, Family-Socialized Kittens

Our kittens are born and raised in our home and cared for daily by our family, including our four children. This constant, gentle interaction helps produce kittens that are well-socialized, adaptable, and comfortable in real household environments. We believe this early foundation makes the transition to a new home smoother for both kittens and families.

Focus on Companion Temperament

While we very much respect breeders who focus primarily on the show ring, our priority is raising well-balanced companion cats. We select breeding cats based on temperament, health, and structure rather than show traits alone. Our goal is a Russian Blue that is affectionate, confident, and easy to live with.

Breeding Across Recognized Russian Blue Standards

We are one of the few Russian Blue catteries in existence that thoughtfully works with multiple recognized standards:

• American standard Russian Blues, known for lighter silver coats, medium-large emerald eyes, and ears set at approximately 45 degrees.

• Russian or European standard Russian Blues, known for deeper blue coats, more upright ear sets, and rich emerald eye color.

Many of our kittens naturally fall between these standards. We do this intentionally to support genetic diversity and because families appreciate both expressions of this breed.

We place strong emphasis on responsible breeding practices, genetic diversity, and long-term breed preservation. Our breeding decisions are made carefully with the health of the kittens and the future of the breed in mind.
